MLA Formatting

After reflection on your midterms and looking at your papers it has become clear that we must take some time to learn how to format your papers. The MLA format will be used in many of your university classes so it is important to start getting used to it now. Today you will work on formatting your paper in MLA style.

Your assignment or today is to look at your typed paper and  correct the formatting so it matches MLA format.  For this Assignment you will only be looking at the "Format" and "First Page on Your Paper Sections" sections of the MLA Format Checklist below. This will be due next class. 

Below are some documents that are going to help you. 

In class we are going to review this PowerPoint created by the folks at Purdue OWL. This is a quick breakdown of the formatting and style guide. Today we will focus on the page formatting and the in text citation, however the entire PowerPoint is uploaded for your reading pleasure.
