Oral History Project Proposal:
Today you will take the work you have done on your worksheet and use it to create a more flushed out proposal. This assignment will only be used as a grade in this class but it will serve as a way for you to communicate to community partners you will work with. It is important that you take time and effort to fill this out. This will turn into a short presentation so do well on this.
Project Title:
Create a name for your project that will make people pay attention to your work. Think of something short yet meaningful. (Often this changes as you learn more about the folks you work with)
Group Members:
This part is more than just your names! Give more information about you. Your ages, where are you from (born or live), some family backgrounds, anything interesting that we can share with folks who you will work with or with someone form the media.
Educational Institution:
Give some basic background information about the school. What kind of school it is, location, how long the school has been open, k-12 etc.
Summary:
Write this part last! This will be the one paragraph summary that you will share with others to get them to understand and support your project. This will be the highlights
Background:
This should be the longest part of your proposal. This part should be at least 3 paragraphs and no more than 6. This section tells the reader why you decided to focus on these particular topics and themes. You need to do research about why these things are problems and how they deal with gender. You need to have at least 4 sources for this part!
Oral History Methodologies:
In this section you will describe how you will interview people, will it be audio, video, or both? Will you create a video, or just an audio segment? You will describe in detail what your project will look like. What does the finished outcome look like? Remember that this is a starting point and that this might change over time.
Project Outcomes and Deliverables:
In this section you will describe what will come from the project and what you will give to people. Describe what you what people to learn from this and how it will help our communities. (this section needs to be detailed and will require you to find some evidence to support your ideas)
