Government Response Assignment 2

You need 5 sources as a group- meaning you could split this up!!!

This week you will continue your work with assignment 2 of your project. Last week you should have chosen which level of government you want to analyze. Now that your group has chosen the level of government you wanted to analyze; you will learn what actions that level of government has taken.

In other words:

  • What actions has (local, state, or federal) government taken during corona virus?
  • When was this action taken?
  • How has the public reacted to the action taken? (good, bad, angry, happy)

Your group will need to find at least 5 sources explaining the actions taken by the level of government you have chosen. (You only find the actions taken by one level of government)

You will need to fill out the attached Evaluating Articles page (only one per group) that is attached. There is also a rubric called C.R.A.P. Test for looking at your sources. Look at this first and find your sources. You will be graded on this rubric and your completion of the Evaluating

To help you out, look for major reputable sources like major new papers (LA times, NY times, Washington Post) or TV news networks (CNN, CNBC, ETC. ) or the government websites (LA county board of supervisors websites, City Website, Federal government websites like CDC).

Good morning wonderful People,

Today we start working on our Government Response project. Throughout this project you will analyze how our government has responded to the covid-19 pandemic and if it has done an adequate job. But first we have to decide which level of government you want to analyze.

This week you need to answer the questions “Which level of government (local, state, federal) should be handling the current pandemic?” and “is that agency effectively responding to covid-19?” in one TIEA paragraph. You will need to site at least three sources in your paragraph. To help you out a bit I will give you some focus questions:

  • What is federalism?
  • What powers does each level of government have to respond to covid-19?
  • Which level of government (local, state, federal) should be handling the current pandemic?
  • Is that agency effectively responding to covid-19?

If you answer all the questions in your paragraph you will be in great shape.

To help you here is a list of articles and videos you can use. You may also find your own information. (these will also be on my website for you to see the videos
