Congratulations you wonderful people!
You are so close to achieving something wonderful. I am proud of each and every one of you. However we must stay focused for a bit longer (about three weeks to be exact). Your final project will be due on Friday May 24th at 3:15 pm.

This project will answer, economically,  our year long questions "How might we create a more just and equitable society?" Earlier in the semester you voted to learn about financial literacy as it was the biggest issue in your communities and you felt it would provide the most equity.  Now that we have spent an entire semester learning about financial literacy it is time for us to present our findings through this final project.

You must look at all of the topics we have covered this semester and decide which of these topics is the most important for your community to learn about. You will then need to prove why this is a need in your community. You will then need to explain why it is important for your community to learn this and provide evidence to support your claim. Lastly you will need to explain how you will teach the community this topic.

For this final you will need to complete:
  1. A 3 minute presentation
  2. A 1 - 3 page paper

In your paper you must:
  • Identify which of the topics covered is the most important for your community to learn.
  • Provide at least 3 pieces of evidence to support your opinion as to why the topic is so important for your community.  (outside of the reading)
  • Provide proper citation for each piece of evidence.
  • Provide a plan to teach your community this topic.
  • TIEA format.

In your presentation you must:
  • Identify which of the topics covered is the most important for your community to learn.
  • Provide at least 3 pieces of evidence to support your opinion as to why the topic is so important for your community. (outside of the reading)
  • Provide a plan to teach your community this topic.
  •  Not have too much text on your slides
  • Contain images of your community and or images completely relevant to your presentation. (no clip art or random images)
  • All content in slide show must be relevant and follow a logical flow.

Last but not least.
This is the last project you will complete this year and the last in your high school career. As a result I would like this to be more like a college paper or project. What I have provided here is a basic outline for you to complete your work with what is needed to pass the class.

If you need more guidance and explanation I will be more than happy to provide you with help, guide you through the project, help you create a TIEA graphic organizer as well as provide feedback on drafts. All you need to do is sign up for "office hours" to come see me. You will be able to sign up for 10 minute meetings during class and 30 minute meetings after school.  It is your responsibility to ask for the help that you need.

YOUR PRESENTATION WILL BE DUE ON MAY 24th at 3:15pm!!!!!
